History of Brazosport Retriever Club
Brazosport Retriever Club is a licensed Club of the
American Kennel Club ("AKC"), a member of the National Retriever
Club, the National Amateur Retriever Club and the Master National Retriever Club.
BRC conducts exclusively AKC hunting tests
and field trials. The Club strives to provide multiple benefits to members and
prides itself on conducting high quality events.
The Club was started by a small but dedicated group of individuals in the
early 1990's for the expressed purposes as listed in the by-laws. The Club quickly grew largely due to an active program for hunting tests, field
trials, training days, active membership participation at meetings, and strong
camaraderie of its members. It has established an outstanding reputation with
the AKC, the National Retriever Club, Master National and with the other Retriever clubs
locally. Club members are frequently asked to judge both hunting tests and
field trials throughout Texas and nationwide. Both
individual and family memberships are available, and applications for membership
can be found on this website. Club members include professional trainers, Veterinarians,
amateur trainers, and individuals with one or multiple dogs representing virtually
every breed authorized by AKC to run hunting tests and field trials.
